poisonous thought

I still remember that voice. That whisper in my right ear along with the sickening sound of a dry mouth opening. I heard her breath even when she wasn't there. There was a certain sweetness to it that made my stomach turn and my flesh crawl. I felt my body shiver and my heart tremble. I didn't try to pull away from the chair because I knew she was watching me like a bloodthirsty dog.
I felt a shuffle but saw nothing around me. I would jolt my head around to make sure nothing was slithering towards me. Every moment was a straining attempt to see everything. hear everything. smell... she smelled like cigarette smoke and lily perfume. Her stench was all over the dark house. The floor smelled like rot and the belt that she tied around my chest and arms smelled like sweat. My senses were overloaded with all the information I could get...  But some of them weren't even real.
I soon stopped screaming when I saw her face in front of mine. She could be behind me... or not even there at all. Still, every time I saw those wicked eyes, I would glare with the last of my energy I would have left. Every hateful stare would prepare me for the time I would see something real. Every hallucination she gives me just makes me stronger.
